Popular Stores Join MVQS in Green RevolutionRTF Water Saver Grass Seed will be a hit on the market for consumers who want greener choices
They like it. They like it lots. They like it so much that a number of well known building and landscape suppliers in Nova Scotia are now providing consumers with more green choices.
You see, Kent Building Supplies, Terra Nova Landscaping Garden Centre, Kel-Ann Organics, Blomidon Nurseries, and Mabou Gardens (Dartmouth and Sydney Locations) are all now carrying the RTF (Rhizomatous Tall Fescue) Water Saver Grass Seed.
This is a first of its kind product that is being offered via Musquodoboit Valley Quality Sod (MVQS). In all, the RTF Water Saver Grass Seed is beneficial to the environment and marks a new trend in the landscaping industry.
MVQS and its sister company, New Brunswick Quality Turf (NBQT), just unveiled the new green product – a first of its kind.
The timing of this news is perfect as the Nova Scotia government recently implemented a “non-essential” pesticide ban that will take effect next spring for lawn care and spring of 2012 for ornamental shrubs, flowers and trees. A list of low-risk pesticides to be allowed will be developed over the coming months.
“MVQS knows that these are changing times in the industry and protecting the environment is paramount,” says Ryan Streatch, who is the Sales and Marketing Director of MVQS and NBQT.
“Our consumers are the ones who have spoken and they want green choices, and we are pleased to offer a new product that will reduce its environmental footprint,” he adds.
The RTF Water Saver Grass Seed is a unique option for over-seeding, or seeding lawns, sports fields and golf courses. In all, this new seed germinates in an 8 to 12 day cycle and populates effectively once planted. Fertilizing is also greatly reduced when applying this seed.
“We know many home owners and others who own golf courses and sports fields will enjoy our new product,” says Streatch.
